RecurDyn is a MultiBody Dynamics Simulation (MBD) CAE system for modeling mechanical components and their kinematic characteristics. At the core of RecurDyn is the Multi-Flexible Body Dynamics (MFBD) core, combining the Multibody Dynamics solver and the Nonlinear Finite Element solver


A multibody system is used to model the dynamic behavior of interconnected rigid and elastic bodies, each of which can perform complex translational and rotational movements. Dynamic behavior is the result of a balance of applied forces and the rate of change of momentum. The body is usually considered as a rigid or flexible part of a mechanical system.
