Bought this and another even-more-basic cookbook for my teen granddaughter who will be cooking in Europe. Recipes rang from some that only teens love and some that you could serve to your adult dinner guests. The text and illustrations are definitely geared to the younger cook. Basic processes are explained, unlike most cookbooks that assume you already know terms and utensils. It's a good cookbook for the purpose. So why didn't I give it a top-rating? I don't know. Maybe because I'm in my 70's and found the teen stuff a little annoying.
